A graduate of the National University of Theatre and Film (U.N.A.T.C.) and one of the founders of the Ideo Ideis Young Theatre Festival, Alexandru Ion has performed in numerous films and stage productions. His first role in a drama series with Ruxandra Ion’s production team was Alin in Sacrificiul, followed by Pavel in the series Lia, Soția soțului meu. Over time, Alexandru Ion has appeared in many theater productions as well as several comedy films, and alongside Ștefan Floroaica (the lead actor in Lia, Soția soțului meu), he reached the final of Romania’s toughest reality show, Asia Express.
In Destine cu parfum de lavandă, the Antena 1 production, Alexandru Ion will portray Mihai, a young teaching assistant at the Faculty of Medicine - a character who promises to add a new layer of tension to the story. With a complex personality, Mihai has intentions and motivations that will not be easy to decipher.
Speaking about this experience, Alexandru Ion stated: “I’m happy to join the universe of Destine cu parfum de lavandă with a character who, let’s say, isn’t exactly easy to define. He has a certain charm, a few secrets, and from time to time, he makes choices that probably wouldn’t pass the test of close friends. For me, it was very enjoyable to play, and for the audience, I believe it will create many moments that will make them raise an eyebrow or react with surprise.”
The actor’s appearance in the spin-off Destine cu parfum de lavandă marks a new collaboration with the team led by Ruxandra Ion, in a project that continues the story of one of the channel’s most popular fictional universes.
