Cristiano Ronaldo Writes Another Page of World Cup History with a Sensational Brace Against Uzbekistan, Live on Antena 1 and AntenaPLAY, as Day 13 of the Tournament Dominates the Ratings

Yesterday, Portugal faced Uzbekistan in a spectacular match in Houston, broadcast live on Antena 1 and AntenaPLAY. Cristiano Ronaldo silenced his critics and became the only footballer in history to score in six FIFA World Cup editions. Viewers followed live Portugal’s qualification match for the Round of 32 in Group K, where Portugal defeated Uzbekistan 5–0. Alongside this fixture, the Group L clash between England and Ghana, which ended in a 0–0 draw, and the Group I match between France and Iraq, won by France 3–0, also contributed to Antena 1’s dominant ratings performance. Audience data for the France–Iraq match was released today. Antena 1 led the ratings both in Prime Time and throughout the entire day. Today, the battle for qualification to the Round of 32 continues exclusively on Antena 1, AntenaPLAY, and Antena 3 CNN with matches from Groups A, B, and C: Switzerland vs. Canada, Bosnia and Herzegovina vs. Qatar, Scotland vs. Brazil, Morocco vs. Haiti, Czech Republic vs. Mexico, and South Africa vs. South Korea.

The Portugal vs. Uzbekistan match, aired between 8:00 PM and 9:59 PM and ending 5–0, was the viewers’ first choice, achieving a 34.9% market share and an average rating of 8.0 points among the commercial audience aged 21–54. Pro TV followed with an 18.2% market share and a 4.2-point rating. The ranking remained unchanged among urban viewers, where the match recorded a 25.8% market share and an 8.2-point rating, ahead of Pro TV’s 14.4% market share and 4.6-point rating. At the national level, Antena 1 registered a 21.6% market share and a 6.8-point rating, while Pro TV recorded a 17.1% market share and a 5.4-point rating. At the peak viewing minute, 9:57 PM, more than 1.6 million viewers were watching the match on Antena 1.

The Group L encounter between England and Ghana, broadcast between 11:00 PM and 1:01 AM and ending 0–0, was also the viewers’ top choice. It achieved a 36.8% market share among the commercial audience aged 21–54, compared to Pro TV’s 14.7%. The same ranking was maintained among urban audiences, where the match delivered a 28.1% market share, ahead of Pro TV’s 11.8%, as well as nationwide, where Antena 1 achieved a 22.8% market share versus Pro TV’s 15.2%. Antena 1 also topped the ratings throughout the entire day, recording a 2.5-point rating and a 24.8% market share, as well as during the entire Prime Time slot (7:00 PM–12:00 AM), with a 6.2-point rating and a 29.2% market share.

The France vs. Iraq match (Group I, 3–0), whose audience data was released today, also led the ratings across all target groups, recording a 33.3% market share among viewers aged 21–54. Last night, Portugal delivered a spectacular performance in Houston, defeating Uzbekistan 5–0. Cristiano Ronaldo silenced his critics and became the only footballer in history to score in six World Cup editions, live on Antena 1 and AntenaPLAY. Immediately after the final whistle of the second group-stage match, the striker—who recently won the Saudi Pro League title with Al-Nassr—addressed his critics live on television, declaring: “I’m back!”

The England vs. Ghana match at Boston Stadium in Group L proved less eventful, ending in a goalless draw. Despite expectations of an exciting contest between two teams that had won their opening matches and could have secured qualification to the Round of 32 with a victory, neither side managed to find the net.

During the night, in the second round of Group L fixtures, Panama faced Croatia, with Croatia securing a 1–0 victory. The only goal of the match in Toronto was scored by Ante Budimir in the 54th minute, giving Luka Modrić and his teammates their first win of the 2026 World Cup.

This morning, Colombia faced DR Congo in Group K and won 1–0. The South Americans secured qualification to the Round of 32 thanks to a goal from Muñoz. In their opening match of the tournament, Colombia defeated Uzbekistan 3–1. DR Congo, meanwhile, earned a 1–1 draw against Portugal.
