How did the Ferrari name come to be? Piero Ferrari tells the story, exclusively on AntenaPLAY, in the show Grand Prix, at the debut of the new Formula 1 season
Formula 1 returns on March 6 to the Antena universe with a spectacular new season, full of adrenaline and decisive moments. Engines will roar at maximum revs, emotions will rise with every lap, and the official start will take place in Australia, during a weekend that promises total excitement for fans around the world.
During the latest testing sessions in Bahrain, broadcast live on AntenaPLAY, the Antena Sport team conducted an exclusive interview with Piero Ferrari, one of the most important figures in motorsport history. The feature will be available exclusively on AntenaPLAY starting Friday, February 27, and brings to the forefront the fascinating story behind the Ferrari name.
Piero Ferrari, who owns 10.2% of the shares in the company founded by his father, spoke about the moment when Enzo Ferrari decided to put his own name on the cars he was building. “My father was a racing driver, then a team manager, leading Scuderia Ferrari. After the war, when he decided to build his own car, my mother told him: ‘Enzo, use your name, call it Ferrari, just as Mr. Bugatti did.’ It was a family decision,” Piero Ferrari recounts in the exclusive interview.
He also recalled one of the fundamental lessons he received from his father: “We cannot change the past. The present lasts a second and immediately becomes the past. But there is something we can change: the future.” A philosophy that continues to define the Ferrari spirit and its ambition in Formula 1.
The interview also addresses key topics of interest for competition fans: the objectives for 2026, the impact of the new technical regulations on the cars, the evolution of the drivers in the upcoming season, as well as opinions about Charles Leclerc, one of the most highly regarded drivers of the moment.
The new Formula 1 season brings significant technical and strategic changes, but the excitement remains the same. Between March 6 and 8, drivers will take the старт in Australia, where every lap can reshape the standings. Practice sessions, qualifying, and races will be available for a complete experience, exclusively within the Antena universe.
