Featuring emotional testimonies from Hagi, Gică Popescu, Ilie Dumitrescu, Anghel Iordănescu, Florin Răducioiu, and other national team heroes, the documentary Come on, Romania! – The Story of the Golden Generation, airing at 11:15 PM, relives the magic of the 1994 World Cup and the moments that made an entire country shout from the heart: “Come on, Romania!”
Stories never told like this before, about a period when our national team reached third place in the world, achieved the record of three consecutive qualifications to World Cups and two consecutive qualifications to European Championships, and competed on equal footing with the greatest teams in the world, will be featured in the documentary Come on, Romania!.
These days, Romania’s national team faces the most important match of the year—the playoff against Turkey for qualification to the FIFA World Cup in the USA, Mexico, and Canada this summer, broadcast exclusively within the Antena Universe. LIVE from Istanbul, on match night, Antena 1 will feature commentary from national team legends Gică Popescu and Florin Răducioiu, along with other personalities, as well as footage of Romanian fans and post-match interviews with the players and head coach Lucescu immediately after the final whistle.
If Romania wins in Turkey, the team will qualify for the playoff final for the FIFA World Cup 2026, scheduled for March 31 at 9:45 PM, live on Antena 1, against Kosovo or Slovakia.
