Day Two of the FIFA World Cup: Antena 1 Remains the Clear Ratings Leader
The second day of the FIFA World Cup on Antena 1 continued to dominate the ratings charts, establishing itself as the clear audience leader. The Group B clash between Canada and Bosnia, as well as the South Korea vs. Czech Republic match, for which audience data became available today, comfortably topped the ratings rankings across all audience categories.
According to audience measurement data, during the Canada vs. Bosnia match broadcast between 22:02 and 23:58, Antena 1 was the undisputed ratings leader among the commercial target audience aged 21–54, recording a 7.9 rating and a 36.9% market share, followed by Pro TV with a 3.3 rating and a 15.7% market share.
The same ranking was maintained among urban viewers, where the broadcast achieved an 8.4 rating and a 30.2% market share, compared to Pro TV’s 2.9 rating and 10.5% market share. Nationwide, Antena 1 also led the market with a 7.1 rating and a 25.6% market share, ahead of Pro TV’s 3.5 rating and 12.6% market share.
At the peak viewing minute, recorded at 22:44, approximately 1.5 million viewers were watching the Group B encounter.
Antena 1 also led the ratings throughout the entire Prime Time slot (19:00–00:00), registering a 5.5 rating and a 26.5% market share, compared to second-placed Pro TV, which recorded a 4.6 rating and a 22.1% market share.
The match between South Korea and the Czech Republic, broadcast between 05:00 and 06:56, was also viewers’ first choice, achieving an average rating of 1.3 points and a 31.7% market share among the commercial audience aged 21–54. Pro TV followed with a 0.7 rating and an 18.5% market share.
The second day of the tournament continued with a new special edition of the Toată lumea la Antena studio show and the third opening ceremony, held in the United States and beginning at 02:30 local time. Audience figures for these broadcasts will be available the following day.
In the opening Group B match of the FIFA World Cup, Canada drew 1–1 with Bosnia in Toronto. Jovo Lukic, the Romanian SuperLiga’s leading scorer, found the net in the match.
The United States made a winning start to the 2026 FIFA World Cup with a convincing 3–1 victory over Paraguay. The match in Los Angeles was decided by goals from Balogun (twice), Reyna and Mauricio, while Paraguay’s goal came via an own goal by Bobadilla.
