The Toată lumea la Antena studio show, hosted by Olivia Păunescu alongside Dan Pavel, Florin Răducioiu, and Bogdan Stelea, aired between 00:08 and 00:45 and was also the audience’s first choice, recording an average rating of 4.3 and a 29.1% market share, ahead of Pro TV, which achieved a 2.7 rating and an 18.2% market share. On Saturday evening at 22:00, the second Group B match of the FIFA World Cup took place. Switzerland secured a dramatic draw against Qatar, the lowest-ranked team participating in the tournament broadcast within the Antena Universe. Breel Embolo scored in the first half after confidently converting a penalty kick. It was Switzerland’s first penalty awarded at a FIFA World Cup and the first successfully converted by the Swiss national team.
Also on Saturday night, Brazil vs. Morocco (1–1), the opening Group C match of the FIFA World Cup, was broadcast live on Antena 1 and streamed live on AntenaPLAY starting at 01:00. The match in New York proved highly entertaining and ended in a draw. Morocco opened the scoring in the 21st minute through Saibari, who capitalized on a defensive gap in the Brazilian back line. Brazil equalized in the 32nd minute through Vinícius. The Real Madrid star beat Bono with a precise shot into the far corner.
Haiti vs. Scotland (0–1), another Group C opening-round match, was broadcast live on Antena 1 and streamed on AntenaPLAY from 04:00. The match in Boston was narrowly won by Scotland. Scotland’s hero was John McGinn, the Aston Villa midfielder who scored the only goal of the match in the 28th minute. Scotland created several additional chances throughout the game, but Haiti nearly equalized in stoppage time when Pierrot missed a golden opportunity.
